About The Event

NAVO joins the worldwide celebrations of Beethoven’s 250th birthday: Beethoven @ 250! 

Under the artistic leadership of Sunnat Ibrahim of Pittsburg State University, the most accomplished cellists of the region will be featured in one unforgettable evening of celebrations: Mark Gibbs (principal cellist of the Kansas City Symphony Orchestra), Hannah Collins (KU), Daniel Veis (Park University), Michael Mermagen (UMKC), and Sunnat Ibrahim.These remarkable pianists will also be performing: Helena Veisova, Ellen Sommer, Evangeliya Delisonas-Khukhua, and young artist Benjamin Dominguez. 

On the program will be Beethoven’s 5 sonatas for cello and piano, Twelve Variations on a Theme from Händel’s Oratorio ‘Judas Maccabeus’, as well as the Twelve Variations on the theme ‘Ein Mädchen oder Weibchen’ and Seven Variations on the duet ‘Bei Männern, welche Liebe fühlen’from Mozart’s Magic Flute opera.
